Job Description

A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a Learning & Development Manager to join an established and welcoming company with national offices on a permanent basis. This role will sit within their Wilmslow office. It will be full-time office based.

The purpose of the role is to align the employee’s goals and performance with that of the company's to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

This position would suit someone with previous similar/transferable experience who is level 5 qualified in CIPD, CTP, QTS or similar. 

Duties will include: 

  • Developing and implementing the company Learning and Development strategy and programme that is aligned to the organisation’s strategic goals
  • Working closely with various leaders across the business and having a full understanding of their units and training requirements 
  • Responsible for identifying and assessing the learning and development needs of individuals and the organisation through the application of Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
  • Aligning the learning and development requirements to the job role/description of the individuals and teams expanding the talent and skills across all levels of the organisation
  • Creating learning and development materials and programmes to address specific business objectives
  • Working with the senior leadership team, the HR Team, employees, and external partners to ensure achievement of the learning and development objectives
  • Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness and success of the learning and development programme
  • Staying current with the latest learning and development trends, development, and best practice
  • Identifying and implementing a wide range or learning and development offerings and techniques to improve efficiency and provide a return on investment
  • Management and development of the Competency Framework based on an individual’s role ensuring that talent is developed and grows with the organisation
  • Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of the learning opportunities
  • Having an awareness of the allocated budget and an ability to track the budget and find solutions to implement the required training
  • Produce and deliver reports demonstrating the performance of the Learning & Development function
  • Maintain and develop relationships with 3rd party vendors and consultants
  • Acting as the go to within the business for anyone with questions or queries regarding training and development plans
  • Increase the visibility of the Learning & Development function

Person Specification: 

  • Proven experience as a Learning & Development Manager, Training Manager or similar
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end learning and development process though the application of a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
  • Level 5 Learning & Development qualification such as CIDP, CTP, QTS or demonstrable experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees, management, board of directors and external partners
  • Taking personal responsibility to deliver results, demonstrating resilience and drive

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take on a varied and hands-on role within a friendly and well-respected company. 

Salary will be up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience).
