Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Events Manager to join a forward-thinking and growing global management consultancy on a permanent basis within their Manchester office. 

You will be responsible for the planning, management, production and sponsorship of events, both within the UK and internationally. 

This role would suit someone with 3 years plus previous experience in a similar role coordinating corporate/professional events, ideally in-house. The company offer a hybrid working policy. Travel will be required both nationally and internationally when necessary. 

Duties will include:

  • Creating and managing the timeline, programme and task-list for all internal (company hosted) and external events
  • Organising and leading collaboration with the Marketing team on event concept, graphic design/production/printing, and event marketing
  • Negotiating costs with vendors, venues, caterers, ordering supplies, coordinating audio/visual equipment/operation, making travel arrangements
  • Coordinating the logistics for shipping supplies and staff travel to the event location
  • Working with the venue to create/revise the room layouts/seating plans for each event location
  • Creating event sponsorship packages and leading the solicitation and securing of sponsors 
  • Organising and managing the invitation, registration, and attendee check-in processes
  • Managing the follow-up with vendors, sponsors and staff members following each event
  • Assisting with the preparing of budgets and providing periodic progress reports to leadership for each event project
  • Keeping track of finances including check requests, invoicing and reporting
  • Researching venue options, coordinating appointments and visits to see venue spaces and scheduling events on the calendar
  • Line management responsibilities for an Events Administrator, based in the Manchester office 

Person Specification:

  • Degree educated from an accredited University (doesn't need to be an Events Degree) 
  • 3 years plus previous experience coordinating professional/corporate events
  • Proven track record of generating revenue from events 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of professionalism 
  • Excellent time management skill, multi-tasking abilities and team playing skills
  • Budget management and negotiating skills
  • Ability to accomplish projects independently 
  • Ability to use initiative and take ownership of tasks
